Meet the first Lady Skyhawk

by AWFC Insider

The Skyhawks are proud to introduce the first member of the Lady Skyhawks; Cynthia Sanchez. Sanchez cheered all four years at Eastmont High School and even served as a team captain. In her senior season, Sanchez competed in the WIAA State Cheerleading Championship where her squad placed fifth. During her time at Eastmont Cynthia was able to work with Susanna White, the new coach of the Lady Skyhawks.

In high school, Sanchez was a flyer meaning she was the one being lifted and thrown in the air. As a captain, her responsibilities included choreographing, selecting music for and teaching routines to the squad.

Sanchez graduated from Eastmont in 2017 and currently attends the University of Washington. In the summer she continued to work with Eastmont’s cheer squad assisting in tryouts, choreographing and remixing music for routines. She also helped with stunting and dance techniques.

This past summer she worked with the Wenatchee Valley Rams football team in ticket sales. She says, “I was able to meet the community and get a taste of being the face of a brand through this experience.” Sanchez is the first member of the Lady Skyhawks dance team and says, “I am excited to get back to dancing on the field and interacting with the community this spring as a Lady Skyhawk!”
